Mountain… names Robert Redford Entrepreneur of the Year.
Despite operating a business in Utah for almost 40 years, Robert Redford was chosen entrepreneur of the year this year, seemingly due to coincidental circumstances. One of the state’s oldest business networking groups, MountainWest Capital Network, is led by executive director Cheri Waldron.
She stated that the committee was seeking candidates who had demonstrated consistent achievement over a long period of time when it started reviewing its lengthy list of applicants this year. At the top of the list was Redford. Waldron stated, “Robert Redford’s numerous pursuits and environmental efforts in the movie and his catalog, along with everything he’s done like that, just obviously made it something that we wanted to highlight.” Finally, and maybe most significantly, someone who gives back to the community is somebody who, in my opinion, is the most significant. Robert Redford contributes in a great deal and in a variety of ways.”
The honor will be given to Redford at a luncheon in Salt Lake City on April 21. Although Waldron stated that his daughter Amy Redford and longtime Sundance Resort general manager Chad Linebaugh will be present, he will accept the honor via a pre-recorded video.
According to Waldron, the search for 2024’s Entrepreneur of the Year will start in mid-October.
