Co-stars of “One Tree Hill” actress Bethany Joy Lenz tried to…
The co-stars of “One Tree Hill,” Bethany Joy Lenz, tried to “rescue” her from the cult she spent ten years in and the purported “spiritual torture” she endured.
“We were upfront with them. In a recent interview, Lenz told Variety, “It was the whisper behind the scenes, like, ‘You know, she is in a cult.'” It is great and amazing to be cared for in that way, and for a while, they were all attempting to save and rescue me.
She said, “But I was really stubborn.” “I truly believed that the decisions I made were the finest ones I could make.”
“A group like that is isolating by nature; they have to instill mistrust in you for everyone else, so the only people you can trust are the group’s leadership and then other members if the leadership supports them and is not in the middle of using you against each other, which also happens frequently,” the actress said.
It caused a strong mistrust to grow between myself and my cast and crew. Despite my deep love and concern for them, I had a core belief: I cannot turn to any of these individuals if I am in pain or suffering. That is why you feel so alone.”
“I lived in North Carolina for nine months of the year,” she said. “My life was actually developed in North Carolina, but I traveled back and forth a lot and had a lot of visitors.” And when it came time for me to wake up, I believe the geographical isolation made a significant impact.”
Lenz also disclosed that at this period of her life, she lost family members.
