Concerns for John Fogerty We are under Donald Trump’s cease-and-desist order….
A cease-and-desist order has been sent to Donald Trump by John Fogerty, the former frontman of Creedence Clearwater Revival, about the usage of the band’s song “Fortunate Son” during some of his campaign rallies.
during a time when millions of Americans were being drafted to the front lines, the 1969 song, which was released during the height of the Vietnam War, takes a harsh stance against military deferments and the safe posts that were granted to well-connected individuals.
Regarding the song, Fogerty has previously stated, “The song speaks more to the unfairness of class than war itself.” There is an old proverb that states that wealthy folks start wars and poor persons must fight them.
utilizing social media, Fogerty has now revealed that he has given the President a cease-and-desist order, saying, “He is utilizing my words and my voice to portray a message that I do not endorse.”
“Fortunate Son” was created “because, as a veteran, I was horrified that some people were permitted to be banned from serving our nation because they had access to political and financial advantages,” Fogerty said, sharing the message along with a picture of himself in uniform.
