“Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” according to Jane Seymour, ought to be….
Actor Jane Seymour stated to BuzzFeed News that a revival of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, the program that launched her feminist character on a major broadcast network’s primetime schedule, is necessary.
When asked if the show should return by host Audie Cornish on Profile, Seymour said, “We wish!”
In the Western-themed series, which ran on CBS from 1993 to 1998, Seymour portrayed Dr. Michaela Quinn.
“They carried everything back with them. Seymour remarked, “I can not understand why they would not bring this back. “It is still virtually every day in 98 nations,” Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman said.
She declared, “It is an intelligent show.” “It is an excellent method for instructing students about morality, history, and many cultures, ideas, and life choices.”
Seymour, who is also well-known for her parts in the films Wedding Crashers, Somewhere in Time, and Live and Let Die, claimed that a revival would be particularly relevant in the current political climate as the nation struggles with immigration concerns and President Trump enacts harsh anti-immigrant policies.
“Since it was all about people and immigration to America, it could not be more pertinent to today’s world. In the 1870s, while early America was still developing, we had to deal with both the influx of Jews and Chinese. We had to cope with the Scandinavians. We handled everything, including slavery,” she remarked.
“And just generally undervaluing women,” Cornish continued.
