Alexander Zverev’s attitude is criticized by Juan Carlos Ferrero…
Former world champion and 2003 Roland-Garros victor Juan Carlos Ferrero currently coaches young Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz Garfia. Prior to that, he collaborated with Alexander Zverev for eight months in 2017 and 2018. Their partnership did not work out. The German tennis player was allegedly late for training sessions, according to Ferrero. According to Zverev, his previous mentor treated him in a “disrespectful” manner.
There does not seem to have been much of an improvement in their relationship. Juan Carlos Ferrero stated that the German player is now too inconsistent to be able to win a grand slam competition in a podcast interview for the Spanish media outlet 3iGuales.
“I saw that during my eight months of training Zverev. He used to switch up a lot within a single match, which is why I believe he has not yet achieved a Grand Slam. He plays heads or tails in the fifth set as a result of this abnormality, according to Ferrero. “Having a large income when you are young can make you feel lightheaded. Key elements at that point are the player’s role and surroundings.
Ferrero has also questioned the 22-year-old’s work ethic and those of his Tour competitors. According to the Spaniard, social media is distracting a lot of people, which is hurting their tennis game.
“They have too many distractions off the court. Phone calls, social networks, friends who suddenly appear… I watch them teasing themselves on Instagram, not thinking about the state of tennis in this day and age. For instance, Zverev spent three hours on the court but was unable to conduct effective training for one and a half hours. Protests took place. Stops. Furious. Distractions. Even though his father greatly assisted me at the time, we collided as a result of his disrespect for the other team members and lack of timeliness.
