In a new television series, Stana Katic will portray a police officer…
In a statement to news outlets on Monday, the network revealed that the 37-year-old actress will be leaving the police drama where she played Detective Kate Beckett for eight seasons.
“For the past eight years, Kate Beckett has been a cherished character on our smash series Castle. ABC stated, “We are appreciative of Stana Katic’s skill and commitment to the show, and we want to keep working with her.”
After Season 8, Tamala Jones, who plays Dr. Lanie Parish, will also leave the serial. The network expressed its gratitude for Jones’s involvement with Castle, referring to the 41-year-old actress as a “fundamental component of the show.”
“I wanted to express my gratitude to the cast, crew, and fans of Castle on ABC Network. It is been an incredible journey! We are a family, and I love you all very much.” In reaction to the news, Jones tweeted.
The Hollywood Reporter was informed by sources that Katic was not satisfied with the show and frequently disagreed with co-star Nathan Fillion, who plays Richard Castle. The actress did not provide an explanation for her departure, nor did ABC.
“Instead than drawing attention away from what was an incredible experience, I would just like to express my gratitude to ABC for providing me with the chance to be a part of a highly acclaimed program. In a statement to E! News, Katic stated, “Thank you to the fans.”
Castle’s Season 8 finale airs on May 16, and a Season 9 renewal has not yet been announced. Deadline was informed by sources that the show might receive a last, shortened season renewal starring Fillion.
