Lonni Alameda of the Florida State Seminoles softball team was selected the 2025 ACC coach of the year…
“Coach Alameda’s impact on Florida State softball continues to be nothing short of extraordinary,” said FSU Athletics Director Michael Alford. “Her ability to lead, inspire, and develop talent year after year is reflected in both the success of our program and the growth of our student-athletes.”
Alameda’s 2025 squad showcased elite performance on both sides of the game. The Seminoles ranked among the top five nationally in ERA and fielding percentage while producing one of the ACC’s most potent offensive lineups. Several players under her tutelage earned All-ACC honors, and at least two Seminoles are projected to be top picks in the upcoming National Pro Fastpitch draft.
Known for her player-first approach and strategic acumen, Alameda continues to elevate the profile of the FSU softball program on the national stage. Since taking over in 2009, she has led the Seminoles to 10 NCAA Super Regionals, six Women’s College World Series appearances, and the 2018 National Championship.
Reacting to the award, Alameda credited her coaching staff and players: “This recognition is truly a team award. I’m fortunate to work with an amazing group of coaches and student-athletes who buy into our culture and bring their best every day. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished this season and excited for what lies ahead.”
With the NCAA Tournament looming, Alameda and the Seminoles now turn their focus to postseason play, where they aim to make another deep run toward Oklahoma City.
