In a much-needed boost for Nuggets Nation, head coach David Armstrong delivered some fantastic news today regarding the status of defensive anchor Aaron Gordon, who had been sidelined with a lingering knee issue.
During his pre-practice media availability, Coach Armstrong was all smiles as he shared the update:
“Aaron’s doing great. He’s ahead of schedule and will be back in the lineup this week. We’ve missed his presence, but he’s coming back stronger than ever.”
Gordon, known for his physicality, shot-blocking, and ability to guard multiple positions, has been a critical piece of the Nuggets’ defensive identity. His absence was felt over the past few games, especially during a tough road stretch where the team struggled to contain perimeter scoring.
The 29-year-old forward has been ramping up individual workouts and was seen practicing with the team today, moving fluidly and showing no signs of discomfort. Sources say he’s expected to return as soon as Friday’s home matchup against the Timberwolves.
Fans and teammates alike welcomed the news with enthusiasm. Nikola Jokic commented, “It’s huge. AG does all the dirty work, and we’re a better team when he’s out there.”
With the playoffs just around the corner and the Western Conference standings tighter than ever, Gordon’s return couldn’t come at a better time.
Coach Armstrong summed it up best: “We’re getting our guy back. And when he’s locked in, we’re a different animal.”
