Clash of the Cats: “No. 17 Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt: Wildcats Poised for Dominance—Preview, Odds & How to Watch. Big Blue Means Big Wins! Fear the Roar!”
The SEC is harsh, particularly when traveling. Fans of Kentucky football are experiencing that firsthand today as the Wildcats make their first trip outside of Kroger Field to take on one of the top collegiate football teams.
For the first four weeks of the season, Ole Miss has been dominating college football scoreboards. With quarterback Jaxson Dart, the country’s best passer, passing to Tre Harris, the country’s best receiver, it is a points-a-palooza. They have won 24 of their previous 26 games at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and have outscored their first four opponents 220–22.
“They have weapons everywhere.” They have a strong offensive line and a very talented quarterback. Earlier this week, Brad White, the defensive coordinator for Kentucky, stated, “We know we have to be at our best.”
Ole Miss, who rank second nationally in havoc rate, has an outstanding rushing assault and an excessively aggressive defense that looks for knockout blows, so it is not just about the passing game. You can bet your bottom dollar that they will be pinned back against Kentucky’s leaky pass protection.
You may be correct if it seems like Kentucky is outmatched. However, we believed the Cats were outmatched by Georgia, as they faced the top college football school head-to-head. Overcoming early haymakers, maintaining lengthy drives, and winning the turnover battle are the keys to success in Oxford. In the three prior sessions, Mark Stoops has maintained a tight relationship with this program. We could have another instant classic if the Cats can put some pressure on this
