Urgent:Emma Raducanu Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition

After winning her first match at the Australian Open, Emma Raducanu announced some wonderful news: she said she has had no wrist problems since starting tennis again.

In May, Raducanu, 21, underwent surgery on both wrists. Raducanu made her comeback to competition in Auckland during the opening week of the 2024 season, defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse in a close match before falling to Elina Svitolina in three sets. For Raducanu, it was her third match since coming back. Afterward in her press conference, Raducanu was asked how her wrists have been doing and if she is worrying or stressing about potential wrists issues.

“No, it is incredible to have no wrist pain. To be honest, I had no idea if I would ever reach this point. Yes, playing pain-free is simply wonderful. I was in pain for a long time. In her press conference following her first victory at Melbourne Park, Raducanu stated, “I was playing from before the US swing in 2022 all the way before surgery.”

Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, also suffered wrist issues in 2023 after battling with them throughout 2022. Raducanu made it to the round of 16 at Indian Wells despite having wrist problems, however she lost to Iga Swiatek.

After defeating Rogers at the Australian Open, Raducanu claimed that her wrist problems were so bad that she “was not able to train and practice,” which meant she was essentially unprepared for matches.
