West Ham’s Emerson aiming to become first player ever to achieve European feat

Emerson Palmieri, a defender for West Ham, is getting close to TWO trebles and is out of flesh to ink tattoos to mark them.

If the Hammers win the Europa Conference League on Wednesday night, the left-back will become the first person to win all three major trophies in Europe.

Emerson is 90 minutes away from a historic hat-trick if West Ham defeats Fiorentina in Slavia Prague’s 20,000-seat Eden Arena after winning the Europa League and Champions League with Chelsea on each side of lockdown.

He was a member of the Chelsea squad that defeated Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final in Baku, which is 3,000 miles away and the obvious location for a London derby, four years ago.

And he was on the bench when the Blues defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the 2021 Champions League final in front of a Covid-reduced 14,000 spectators.

The 29-year-old Emerson’s wife is set to give birth to their third kid next week, just for good measure. All trebles in order!

He was born in Brazil but became an Italian citizen and has represented the Azzurri since 2018. He stated: “For sure, it is a pleasure to reach these trophies in my career. This is not a simple task. I want to take advantage of this new opportunity I have to win another trophy.

“It is just having that mentality. It is only one game, it is just 90 minutes. Since it’s a final, the game is undoubtedly tense, but the winner will be the one who maintains attention and concentration throughout.

“I am aware that maintaining mental control during these situations is difficult, but if we do it successfully, we can prevail.
Our team has a lot of experience playing in important games. Kurt Zouma and I both shared a victory at Chelsea, and Declan Rice participated in England’s victory in the 2021 Euro final while sitting on the bench.
Sometimes there’s no need to talk; we just need to go there with the intention of winning this game because we realize how important it is for the club and for us.

Tattoo shops in the East End have suspended all leave as they await the conclusion of West Ham’s 10-month European campaign, which started way back on August 18 last year.

In addition to his trophy collection, Emerson already has dedications to his young boys Bernardo and Matteo as well as the names of his parents, Reginaldo and Eliana, in his private art gallery.

Will there be room for a third son and a memento of a football game?

Let’s see if I can accomplish it with another trophy. I always have room to place trophies and good things.

Fiorentina, who finished seventh in Serie A and completed their career with a 3-1 victory at Sassuolo on Friday night, will be a tough matchup.

Emerson, who played three seasons of Italian football with Roma, has urged West Ham to be prepared for their stop-start style of play, which is characterized by tactical fouls.
Fiorentina play so aggressively, one-on-one all over the field, so it’s obvious that they’ll want to halt the game because that’s how they play.

“It works for them because you sometimes have to commit fouls when you press hard. In order to win the game, we must face this reality of football and attempt to go behind them.

“When we play these people, when they try to end the game, mentally you want to do something else And after that, everything is filthy. It is not simple. In order to play our best and win the game, we need to try to find a solution.
