Darwin Nunez has doubled the lead for Liverpool but the goal was all about the incredible Mo Salah pass to Szoboszlai.

Diogo Jota switched the ball from the left to the Hungarian who played a pass to Mo Salah on the right and continued his run.

Salah scores but Nunez impresses

While Salah provided the difference I’ve been really impressed with Nunez so far for Liverpool.

While he’s failed to get on the scoresheet, with his first goal only narrowly being ruled out as offside, he’s been pretty much everywhere during the first half at Anfield, helping the Reds lump pressure on Brentford as they try to play out from the back.

Equally, his pass to set up Salah was perfectly weighted and he had thee vision to spot Salah on the overlap too.

Salah provides the inspiration for Liverpool!

It was a fantastic team goal with Nunez, who has had two strikes ruled out by VAR already today, teeing up the Egyptian striker who scored his ninth goal of the Premier League season.

It means he’ll be in illustrious company, becoming one of only three players, including Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry, as the only players in history to have scored or assisted in 15 consecutive Premier League games!

Around the grounds…

It’s been a thrilling first 45 minutes in the Premier League so far this afternoon.

Aston Villa have taken a 2-0 lead against Fulham after an Antonee Robinson own goal in the opening 30 minutes. John McGinn followed up with their second right before half time to give Unai Emery’s side a two goal cushion heading into the break.

Simon Adringa’s early strike sees Brighton hold a 1-0 lead against Sheffield United at the Amex Stadium.

While Nottingham Forest have pulled a goal back against West Ham through Taiwo Awoniyi.

Half time!

It’s half time at Anfield, but that was close – Brentford could have found themselves in a bit of trouble there after Nunez gets pulled down as he goes through on goal.

It’s Ajer who makes the tackle, but Paul Tierney waves play on.

Taiwo Awoniyi levels for Steve Coopers side pouncing on a rebound to bring his side back into the game. It’s half-time at the London Stadium!

Liverpool baying for another

Buoyed by their goal, the Reds have been pushing for another here.

While they’ve lacked a bit of quality defensively, the Reds have had nine goal attempts and six shots on goal.

In the mean time, we’ll have six minutes of added time at the end of the first half.

Grat team goal for Liverpool.

Alexander-Arnold plays a direct ball into Nunez, who, with his back to goal, turns to find Salah on the overlap.

The Egyptian skirts into the box and fires a shot across the goalkeeper to break the deadlock.
