The deal is set rolling and only the highest bidder will go home with international star!!! As Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd set to hold meetings with Osimhen’s agent over potential transfer

Liverpool has scheduled a meeting with Victor Osimhen’s entourage, joining Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for the striker’s signing.

After Napoli’s excellent Serie A season, sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri posted this quite surprising update on Twitter.

The Merseysiders lost their talismanic No. 9 Bobby Firmino on a free transfer leave, but it was assumed that they were still giving priority to bolstering the midfield and defense.

Since Serie A’s top scorer for the 2022–23 season represents the talent pool, Liverpool’s recruitment team has little to apologize for in throwing out feelers.

The Nigerian contributed to 36 goals in 39 games (across all competitions) for the Naples-based team last season, a total that is unquestionably not to be sniffed at.

Despite this, we do have competing objectives to address this summer, and it is very difficult for us to see how the recruitment team can justify a projected £100 million or more splurge (Le Parisien, through Football Transfers, claims the 24-year-old’s asking price will be £154.1 million).

Though it’s difficult not to like Osimhen, we already have enough of choices, including Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo, and don’t need to add another center forward.

A contract extension is now being discussed between the 24-year-old’s agent, Roberto Calenda, and the Italian Serie A winners. His current deal with Napoli expires in 2025.

With 31 goals in all competitions, the Blues’ attacker was one of the most productive strikers in Europe last season, placing him among the top 10 goal scorers in the top five European leagues.

In his best season in the European top division, he also set numerous records. He finished the year as Italy’s leading scorer and was crowned the league’s best player who won the award for best forward.

This justifies the £150 million price tag that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has placed on him.

Along with German Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, French Ligue 1 champions PSG also have a real interest in the Super Eagles forward.
