The Celtics say Larry Bird was a teammate unlike any other.

Everyone who played with Hall of Fame Boston Celtics small forward Larry Bird, including former Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge, was struck by his distinct confidence and skill at trash-talking as a teammate.

During his appearance on the Players Tribune “Knuckleheads” podcast, the current president of the Utah Jazz and former Boston teammate of Bird talked extensively about his memories of playing with “The Hick From French Lick.” Bird’s unmatched self-assurance gave his teammates a strong sense of security, which promoted a culture of increased performance and self-belief.

More importantly, he was a great teammate both on and off the court because of his commitment to practice, work ethic, and capacity for setting an example.

The 2024 NFL Draft, which includes two Bears draft selections in the top 10, is quickly drawing near. It is expected to be an exciting event that takes place in two weeks.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper published a new mock draft recently. Based on his conversations with NFL brass, he projects three trades for quarterback-hungry teams in the first two rounds of this one, the story says.

The Bears, their NFC Great North rival, will select Michigan native J.J. McCarthy with the No. 5 pick, which the Vikings traded with the Chargers for; the Giants will move up in the second round to select Oregon’s Bo Nix; and the Rams will also move up in the second round to select Washington’s Michael Penix Jr.

He has the Bears, who he has staying at the No. 1 and No. 9 picks, in this order when they draft.
