Table tennis team wins World Championships opening match

The Iranian team defeated Thailand 3-2 to open the first round of group stage play at the Perfect 2016 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday morning.

The Iranian men’s national team is composed of Noshad and Nima Alamian, Afshin Norouzi, Pouria Omrani, and Mohammad Reza Akhlagh Pasand. However, due to Coach Jami Lotfollah’s decision, only the Alamian brothers and Nouruzi participated in the match against the Thai team.

Nima and Noshad Alamian each claimed one win, and the Iranian team emerged victorious in the first hard match with a final score of 3-2.

On Monday, February 29, Iranian tennis players will play their second and third sets against the Netherlands and Canada.

The Perfect World Team Championships will take place in the men’s and women’s divisions starting on Sunday, February 28 in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and will conclude on May 6.
