Report – Liverpool prepare to move to sign £70million player

Cheick Doucoure is one of the players with whom Liverpool has been linked this season as they want to strengthen their defensive midfield position.

There are conflicting media reports on how much the player is worth. The Daily Mail asserts that Palace wants £70 million for their top player, while Football Insider believes it would cost a sum of more than £35 million.

The Mail reports that Liverpool’s interest in acquiring the African playmaker from the Eagles has increased.

The Merseyside residents are reportedly serious about the sale and are calculating the price that will be needed to close it, according to a British media site.

Although they haven’t made an official approach as of yet, the Selhurst Park team is putting together a response in case the Anfield club contacts them in the future.

In his first season in the Premier League last year, Doucoure made an impression and was chosen as the season’s top player by the crowd.

The 23-year-old holding midfield player excelled last season in making interceptions and breaking up play, according to research done by The Athletic.

Furthermore, although primarily playing the DM position, he carried the ball forward with ease and even made a few shots.

Liverpool must sign a top-notch replacement if they do lose Fabinho, since the Brazilian international has been one of the best midfielders in the nation.

Have your say: How much should Liverpool offer to get Cheick Doucoure, who is valued at £70 million?
