Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle interested in signing Portugal international with €45m release clause

Goncalo Inacio, a defender for Sporting CP, is reportedly appealing to Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle United this summer.

The Portuguese center back may leave his old team this summer, according to Diario AS. Inacio made his senior debut in 2020 after graduating from Sporting’s academy. Since then, he has played 122 times for the team and has earned several accolades, including one Liga Portugal championship.

Now that the three aforementioned Premier League clubs are interested, Inacio can leave the club this summer. Liverpool’s defense, which struggled last season and allowed 47 goals in 38 league games, is seeking to be strengthened.

Ibrahima Konate only made 24 appearances last season across all competitions due to his injury history. Joel Matip has also had trouble staying in shape. The Reds can now formally try to sign Inacio this summer after expressing interest in him during the January transfer window as well.

In order to participate in the UEFA Champions League, Newcastle is also keeping an eye on the defender’s position. With only 33 goals allowed, the Magpies’ defense was the best in the Premier League last season.Newcastle is seeking the appropriate reinforcements as they prepare to participate in four competitions.Incacio is also on Arsenal’s radar as they try to improve on their title challenge from the previous year.

Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba had a strong defensive pairing, but after Saliba’s injury, they only managed two shutouts in 11 games.
