List of Man City squad spots open for new hires during the summer transfer window that Chelsea is interested in

Here are the numbers Manchester City may acquire during the summer transfer window to add to their roster.

On Saturday in the Champions League, Manchester City has a chance to win an unprecedented treble.

However, football will resume in a few short weeks regardless of what happens in Istanbul, and City will probably be aiming to improve even more in the transfer market. Although the summer won’t likely be as busy as it was the year before.

The squad numbers that are currently available for any Manchester City additions during the summer transfer window are listed below:

No. 1 – Since Claudio Bravo left City in 2020, all three of the team’s first-choice goalies have declined to play in that position. It won’t be taken likely due to the lack of a fresh signing between the sticks.

Nos 11 Aleks Zinchenko claimed the No. 11 after possessing it for two years, but he left it empty after moving to Arsenal last summer. Another left-back to don the number was Alexandr Kolorov, and if City reinforced the position this summer, another might do the same.

No. 12 – No. 12 is currently unemployed after Angelino’s disastrous second stint at City ended in 2012 after just one season. Former owners of the title include Darius Vassell and Andrey Kanchelskis.

No. 15 – A diverse group of players, including Alf-Inge Haaland, Jesus Navas, and Sylvain Distin, have sported the No. 15 for City. Eliaquim Mangala, who finally departed the club permanently in 2019, was its most recent occupant.

Nos. 24 has previously been used by center backs Tosin Adarabioyo, John Stones, and Nedum Onuoha, but with Aymeric Laporte’s future uncertain, City may elect to recruit another center back in the summer.

All of the numbers 27, 28, 29, and 30 are free, and most of the numbers after No. 33 are also available. Ilkay Gundogan’s future is still up in the air, but if he decides to leave the team after his contract expires, the No. 8 will become available for the first time since 2016.

Following his loan at Bayern Munich, Joao Cancelo is expected to go permanently. His departure would free up No. 7, and No. 14 would be available should Laporte decide to move on.
