Lions missing 4 key who has not…

ALLEN PARK — Short weeks are tough, and there is no shorter week in the NFL than the turnaround to Thanksgiving.

But the Detroit Lions are in about as good of shape as could be expected.

Guard Jonah Jackson was the only player listed as a non-participant on Monday’s estimated practice report. Detroit did not actually practice, but all teams must file an injury report three days before a game per league rules. Jackson was listed as out on that report because a wrist injury that also kept him out of the win against Chicago.

Rookie Colby Sorsdal started in Jackson’s place against the Bears, and could be headed for another start on Thursday against the Green Bay Packers.

Defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs was listed as a full participant after missing the Bears game because of an illness, along with center Frank Ragnow (toe) and safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (hand).

Why it Matters

Following their improbable come-from-behind win over the Bears on Sunday at Ford Field, the Lions are now 8-2 on the season. That record not only keeps them in firm control of the NFC North but currently has them as the No. 2 seed in the NFC. With that being said, the Lions are hoping they can get back starting left guard Jonah Jackson for their Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Packers.
