Kalidou Koulibaly leaves Chelsea after one season to join Saudi side Al-Hilal

After only one season at Chelsea, Kalidou Koulibaly’s transfer to Al-Hilal has been officially confirmed.

After just one year in England, Chelsea has decided to cut its losses on the Senegal defender who has moved to Saudi Arabia.

The 32-year-old spent more than £30 million to lure the center-back away from Napoli and bring him to Stamford Bridge, making him one of the first signings of the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital period.

However, Koulibaly decided to join Al-Hilal after 32 games and a 12th-place finish in the Premier League because the opportunity was too good to pass up. He signed a three-year agreement for about £17 million.

After his departure, Koulibaly stated: “It was an honor to wear this badge from my first game to my last.

We didn’t get the season we wanted last year, but I still want to thank the club’s supporters and everyone for their help.
