The former Arsenal manager spoke to football.london at the world premiere of his new film ‘Invincible’

Arsene Wenger admits that he had doubts over being part of a film about himself and says that he misses several aspects of football management.

The legendary former Arsenal manager was in north London on Tuesday night for the world premiere of his new film, Invincible, directed by Gabriel Clarke and Christian Jeanpierre.

Wenger departed the Gunners in 2018 following two decades at the helm of the Arsenal hotseat, and has since taken up a new role as Head of Global Development for FIFA.

He has yet to return to Emirates Stadium despite current manager Mikel Arteta and several other key figures revealing that the door is always open for the Frenchman to come back.

When asked whether a song could be next following the launch of his autobiography and film, Wenger told football.london: “It’s better for you that my song doesn’t come out and especially that I don’t sing!”

On more serious matters, Wenger insisted that he found the film ‘interesting’ to take part in after initially having doubts over being involved in it.

“I don’t like too much to talk about myself first,” he said.

“And not too much about the past. I’m more interested in the future.

“I talked a lot you know. But I haven’t seen the final product, so I will discover it tonight.

“Overall, I will say it was interesting to do because it gave me an opportunity to walk through my 22 years.
