Inter star sends warning to Man City ahead of Champions League final showdown

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will attempt the triple after winning the Premier League and FA Cup.

Inter winger Despite highlighting Pep Guardiola’s team’s key strength, Robin Gosens thinks the Italian team can defeat Manchester City.

The championship game will be held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium on Saturday as City strives for the treble. Guardiola’s team defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final this past weekend after winning the Premier League a few weeks earlier. Ilkay Gundogan scored both goals in the victory at Wembley.

The crucial matchup for City will now take place against Inter, a team that defeated rival AC Milan in the semifinals and finished third in Serie A this season. Benfica and Porto were also eliminated by Simone Inzaghi’s team, who also preserved five clean sheets in their six knockout games.

It will be evident that City’s objective will be to dismantle that obstinate and well-organized back line. Gosens, a German international, acknowledges the caliber of the opposition they will face, but he still believes Inter can pull off a surprise on the evening.

The Champions League Final is the largest game that takes place at the club level, thus it is a dream, according to Gosens. “We’re all proud, but we also know that we earned this chance on the field. We intend to prevail there.

“In football, anything can happen. We know it will be difficult, but we have what it takes to defeat Manchester City. We earned our position in that Final. Their best asset is their mobility, according to the games we saw them play.

“They pass the ball back and forth without it; no player simply holds onto their spot, which makes City exceptionally dangerous. However, we have a week to research and plan ways to trouble them.

Gosens added: “I am proud to be a part of this squad, because it is made of real men who say things to your face. We won two Cups, can still take second place and at the end of the day achieved a lot this season.”
