Ibrahimovic’s tearful farewell to Milan is being prepared for; find out where he might go next.

After tonight’s games, AC Milan will wish Zlatan Ibrahimovic farewell with a ceremony at San Siro, since it had to happen sooner or later.

There have been rumors about Ibrahimovic leaving Milan all season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), given his frequent physical issues and the fact that he has only been able to make four appearances.

Despite his best efforts, Zlatan will not be on the field tonight. He would have loved to. Despite all the damage his body has endured this year, he is still unable to resume playing.

Milan will honor one of its greatest champions in recent memory after tonight’s match against Verona is over. Ibra will appear at a news conference to take questions regarding his future after receiving a symbolic present from the team and fan appreciation from the crowd.

If the 41-year-old were to continue playing, Adriano Galliani’s Monza would seem to be the most natural choice. His relationship with the former CEO of Milan is excellent, the project is ambitious, and Segrate, where he lives and recently constructed a new Padel center, is a nearby city to Milan.

It will be nearly like saying goodbye twice tonight at San Siro. When Ibrahimovic left Milan for the first time in the summer of 2012, he did it virtually unexpectedly. He was forced to join PSG in the summer and left Milan without having the chance to bid the fans farewell.

He scored 56 goals in his first two seasons and took home the Scudetto and Supercoppa. The big comeback, which altered Milan’s trajectory and aided in their expansion, followed stints in France, England, and the USA.

Eleven years later, he led a young bunch to the top of Italy once more. Milan will bid a legend, who has given everything he has to the club, farewell tonight at about 23:00 CEST.
