I am totally devastated; Salah, open-hearted, there is no excuse for this and Liverpool have failed

The Egyptian expresses his disappointment as Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Liverpool will not compete in the Champions League the following season. The Reds, who have even reached two finals in recent years, will not compete in the top continental competition, which has disappointed Mohamed Salah, one of the team’s talents.

The Egyptian player expressed his displeasure in a statement on his own Twitter account, explaining how he felt. “I am completely devastated. This is completely unacceptable. “We had everything we needed to qualify for the Champions League next year, and we failed,” he writes on Twitter.

“We are Liverpool, and just qualifying for the competition is enough.” I’m sorry, but an optimistic post is premature. “We let you down, and we let ourselves down,” Salah continued.

Liverpool needed Manchester United to lose at Chelsea on Thursday to keep their prospects of qualifying for the Champions League alive, but Erik ten Hag’s team achieved the win that assures their presence in the competition.

It marks the Reds’ first failure to qualify for the tournament since 2017.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Liverpool has finished the season on a high note, winning eight of their last nine games. However, top-four rivals Manchester United and Newcastle have held them off.

I’m completely devastated. This is completely unacceptable. We had everything we needed to qualify for the Champions League the next year, but we fell short. We are Liverpool, and just getting into the competition is enough. I’m sorry, but it’s too soon for anything upbeat or hopeful…

Salah made his comments on social media immediately after Manchester United defeated Chelsea, confirming Liverpool’s inability to place in the top four.

Liverpool will finish fifth and compete in the Europa League the following season.
