Done deal!!! Barcelona new signing received €100m offers from Man United, Tottenham, reveals agent

Barcelona announced the signing of Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense on Wednesday afternoon. The striker will join the club before the 2024–25 season and sign a long-term deal that runs through 2031.

In a deal worth €30 million in fixed fees and an additional €31 million in add-ons, Roque joins Barcelona. He is expected to arrive next season, as was stated earlier, although the La Liga champions will make an effort to sign him this summer or in January 2024, depending on FFP.

But before Roque joined Barça, a number of Premier League teams, including Manchester United and Tottenham, expressed a great interest in the 18-year-old player.

Andre Cury, Roque’s agent, has now confirmed this, claiming that although United and Tottenham made offers of about €100 million for the adolescent star, he always had his heart set on a move to Barcelona.

On the Charla Podcast, Cury stated: “Tottenham and Manchester United made us significantly larger offers for Vitor Roque. It exceeded 100 million euros.

However, he has a clear career path, so we chose Barcelona. Right now, focus on your career rather than your finances.

Roque lands at Barça under less favorable financial circumstances than he may have received at other teams, but Cury emphasized in a separate interview with RAC1 that the young player is enthusiastic about the move.

“We can’t wait for Vtor to visit Barça. Even if the economy isn’t great, we’re excited to be visiting Barcelona, he remarked.

“France and England had considerably stronger offers, but Barça consistently came out on top. He has significantly less money when he first arrives in Barcelona, but he is determined to succeed.

Cury, who confirmed that Barcelona is paying Roque’s transfer fee, said: “The operation is very positive for Barça. It cost €30 million fixed, plus €31 million in variable costs, to finish. Barça will be happy to pay this money if these are met.

also emphasized Deco’s crucial contribution to the operation, saying: “Deco has been important to the operation. He had the option to try to bring in other players, but he had always felt that Vtor Roque was the best choice.

Former Barcelona staffer Cury claimed that although no longer being paid by the team, he still considers himself a Culer and wants to assist them in any way he can.

Since 2020, I have not collaborated with the club. I’m a Culer, though, and I want to support the club, therefore I’m not hiding. Working for Barça is something I won’t repeat. In a different way, I want to help,” he remarked.

Neymar’s services may be offered to Barça this summer, according to rumors. Cury offered his opinion on that, saying:

Neymar erred when he left Barça, I admit. I begged him a hundred times not to go. He made numerous attempts to return in 2019, and we came close to working with PSG. I’m not sure about the situation right now.

Roque may end up joining Barcelona in January 2024, as Cury stated in a different interview with El Larguero: “In principle, Roque will join Barça in January.”
