Christopher Nkunku breaks silence on Chelsea transfer with Mauricio Pochettino message

Following the completion of a pre-contract agreement prior to his $52 million transfer to Stamford Bridge last year, Christopher Nkunku is expected to sign with Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

While on international duty with France, Christopher Nkunku reacted to inquiries over his anticipated summer transfer to Chelsea. According to football.london, the Frenchman pre-signed a contract agreement last year and is about to close on a £52 million transfer to Stamford Bridge in time for the upcoming season.

Despite missing two months of the season due to injury, the 25-year-old claimed the Bundesliga Golden Boot award after scoring 16 goals in just 25 league games. After Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling finished as the Blues’ leading scorers with nine goals each last season, Chelsea is in desperate need of a goalscorer.

According to recent comments made by RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl to BILD, “the indicators are very, very apparent that he is transferring to Chelsea. In his final game for the German team, Nkunku helped Leipzig win the DFB-Pokal trophy by scoring and grabbing an assist.

Before the summer transfer market opened, Wesley Fofana, a defender for Chelsea, was questioned about the arrival of his fellow countryman. “If it happens, I’m very happy,” Fofana retorted.

He has a lot of great traits. Having him here would bring us nothing but happiness.

Nkunku, on international duty, though, remained guarded about his future and the summer transfer window, saying: “I am focused on assembling with Les Bleus. We will have time to consider everything that follows.
