Breaking news!!!! Chelsea now told to pay £155m to sign Pochettino’s No.1 striker target this summer

Victor Osimhen will now cost Chelsea a club record €180 million (£155 million) in order to sign with Napoli this summer.

What is the premise?

According to 90min, Mauricio Pochettino has named the Nigerian international his top target this summer.

After scoring 31 goals in all competitions the previous season, Osimhen was always going to cost a lot of money.

However, Napoli has now offered Chelsea a staggering sum, surpassing the club record fee at Stamford Bridge of £106.8 million paid for Enzo Fernandez.

Le Parisien reports that Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis is eager to keep Osimhen in Naples, and the Italian champions are asking £155 million to offload their No. 9 this summer.

The 74-year-old is a seasoned negotiator, so it doesn’t appear that he is playing a bluff with his $155 million asking price.

In addition to Chelsea, PSG, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are also interested in signing the 24-year-old, according to the French news portal, so Pochettino faces stiff competition.

Chelsea must undoubtedly consider Osimhen substitutes.

Nobody will purchase Osimhen for Napoli’s asking price of £155 million, in our opinion.

He would thus rank third among all-time football superstars in terms of price, after Kylian Mbappe ($166 million) and Neymar ($200 million).

Despite Osimhen’s talent, that £155 million price tag is just too high, and Chelsea should look at alternatives.

Nicolas Jackson of Villarreal is one choice that the Blues seem to have already chosen to move on from.

The Senegal international is eager to sign with Chelsea, as explained by Fabrizio Romano, and the Blues are merely debating whether his £30 million release clause can be paid in installments.

Keep an eye on events at Chelsea as at least one new forward appears to be on the way.
