Chelsea battle Real Madrid for Lautaro Martinez

After a poor 2022–23 season, the Blues are aiming to bolster their strike force, and Martinez has been identified as one of their top targets.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring his compatriot, a 25-year-old striker who is regarded as one of the best players in the world, to Stamford Bridge. Romelu Lukaku and Martinez have developed a solid working relationship at Inter, and Martinez may be one of the most sought-after players in the forthcoming transfer window.

If the Nerazzurri win the competition, they will likely strive to hang onto Martinez. The Nerazzurri will play Manchester City in the Champions League final.

Due to their dire financial circumstances, Inter may have to let go of a few players this summer. One of Inter’s most marketable assets will be Martinez, who has so far netted 28 goals across all competitions.

The South American hitman is reportedly a target for Chelsea, but they’ll have a tough time landing him because Real Madrid of La Liga is also interested.

The Argentine striker joined Inter from Racing in 2018 and has already established himself as a club icon. In 48 games for Argentina, he managed 21 goals, bringing his total for his club career to 129.

He is currently at the top of his game, and Chelsea needs to look into bringing him to Stamford Bridge. Martinez is valued at about £68 million, according to transfermarkt, and has a contract with Inter through 2026.

Given his lengthy contract, Inter will presumably seek a significant premium over his present value, and the Blues should not hesitate to meet that demand.

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, has been linked to Chelsea, but he would likely cost more than £100 million. World-class striker Martinez would be a fantastic addition to the team. It would be fascinating to see if he wants to join Chelsea, though, given that they cannot guarantee him Champions League action for the upcoming season.

Martinez is not only a fantastic goal scorer, but he can also open up scoring opportunities for others. He has nine assists for Inter this season in all competitions, so Pochettino ought to be able to make the most of him like he did with Harry Kane at Tottenham.
