Breaking news!!! 25-year-old up for sale after he held talks with Chelsea, close to signing his replacement

After speaking with Chelsea, Robert Sanchez has convinced Brighton to trade him; the Seagulls have even already lined up a successor.

What’s the premise?

The Spanish international is highly regarded by Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach, Ben Roberts, according to The Athletic.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Chelsea and Brighton are in discussions over a deal to sign Sanchez.

Things might now start to move along as Brighton nears acquiring Anderlecht goaltender Bart Verbruggen.

As they finalize the Dutchman’s arrival, TalkSPORT continues by saying that the Seagulls are open to offers for Sanchez.

Mauricio Pochettino should be happy to hear that Chelsea is actually interested in bringing the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Does Chelsea get better with Robert Sanchez?

We find it odd that Chelsea is having discussions about Sanchez.

At the conclusion of the 2022–23 season, the Spaniard was replaced in goal by Jason Steele. To be honest, we’re not entirely sure if Steele is an improvement over Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy.

Last season, Brighton’s starting goalkeeper made 23 Premier League games, giving up 30 goals while recording six clean sheets overall.

If a trade is finalized, Chelsea supporters must give Sanchez a chance since Pochettino is obviously excited to have him in west London.

However, given that he will be Brighton’s third choice in the pecking order when Verbruggen officially moves to the Amex Stadium, it certainly looks to be an unusual goalkeeping objective for the Blues.

Nevertheless, it’s important to keep a watch on the situation because, despite a rough 2022–2023 season, Sanchez appears to be popular at Chelsea.
