Billie Jean King, Ashton Kutcher, Tom Brady, and Others Let’s celebrate Caitlin Clark’s breaking the NCAA women’s scoring record.

Caitlin Clark, the star basketball player for Iowa, got a barrage of messages on Thursday night congratulating her on becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball.

Midway through the first quarter of the Hawkeyes’ game against the Michigan Wolverines, Clark made history by becoming the highest scoring player of all time with a long three-pointer. Iowa gave Clark and her supporters time to fully celebrate their achievement by calling a timeout right away and holding a ceremony after the game.

Breakthrough former women’s tennis player Billie Jean King called Clark “one of the best” basketball players in the world in an interview with ESPN.

“She is the hottest star in basketball, period—not just women’s basketball—and that entails a big burden to lead both on and off the court,” King, 80, declared. “She understands, which is one of the reasons she will have the chance to rank among the top in her sport and serve as an inspiration for upcoming generations.”

Former Iowa teammates, NCAA officials, celebrities, and some of the biggest names in sports all sent their congratulations for Clark’s accomplishment in a video tribute.
