American postage honors NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain.

JTA/HENDERSON, Nev. A man by the name of Yossi Zablocki is working to preserve the last blintz palace belonging to the youth of my generation up in the Catskills. Kutsher’s Country Club is the name of the location.

I once spent a lot of time covering boxers and basketball players in preparation for major fights and sports clinics that drew 500 college and high school coaches nationwide for a week every summer to learn from coaching legends like Adolph Rupp, Red Auerbach, Nat Holman, and Ara Parseghian.

Milton Kutsher was the man who made it all work.

Additionally, it was a time when that region of the world—which was made up of a massive wall of kosher hotels known as the Borscht Belt—had its own way of life, complete with a custom of family summer vacations devoid of jet plane travel, Caribbean beaches, or Las Vegas’ green felt tables.
