“Amazing news”: Chelsea now want to sign 41-goal striker Pochettino once called a ‘great talent’

Mauricio Pochettino is known to be particularly interested in Kylian Mbappe, who Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing to Stamford Bridge.

Since it became evident that the France international would not be signing a new deal, his future has become unknown as his present terms are set to expire in a year.

What’s the premise?

As you may already be aware, the Argentine and the Frenchman collaborated at PSG.

Mbappe seems to enjoy himself while playing for Pochettino, as seen by the remarkable 67 goals he scored in 75 games while partnering with the South American, in addition to 34 assists.

Under the 51-year-old’s direction, the 24-year-old won the Ligue 1 championship, the Trophée des Champions, and also enjoyed success in the Coupe de France.

Pochettino praised Mbappe after his 94th-minute victory in the Champions League match against Real Madrid in February 2022.

“Mbappe is amazing,” the Argentine told CBS Sports. He has a lot of talent. I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude.

The Bondy striker, who made 43 appearances during the 2022–23 season, astonishingly scored 41 goals.

According to reports, Mbappe was not expected to become available this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues admired the attacker and want him in 2022, but a transaction may not be feasible at this time.

According to the dependable Italian journalist, Chelsea had an interest in the scenario a year ago and wanted to be updated on the Mbappe situation, but now it seems that they want to take a different approach.

They don’t want to get involved in crazy things, thus there is currently no activity surrounding Chelsea and Mbappe.

We still can’t rule this one out just yet because Chelsea are reportedly planning to enter the race, according to The Times.

Having said that, we believe Chelsea would have to give up on signing players like Moises Caicedo, Andre Onana, and others if they chase Mbappe’s signature. At least from a financial standpoint.
